The Chief Transformation Officer (CTRO) is responsible for shaping and delivering the Bank’s enterprise transformation strategy, ensuring that technology, digital innovation, operational efficiency, and organizational change serve as key enablers of sustainable business growth, enhanced customer value, and long-term competitive advantage. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CTRO drives the Bank’s transformation agenda by connecting strategic priorities, upgrading business capabilities, accelerating digital development, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
The CTRO provides executive oversight of the Bank’s Technology, Software Engineering, Transformation Delivery, and Strategic Project Management functions, ensuring that transformation initiatives are properly governed, prioritized, and delivered to achieve tangible business results. In close partnership with Executive Management and business leaders, the CTRO converts the Bank’s strategic priorities into coordinated transformation programs while maintaining strong standards of governance, operational resilience, innovation, and delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Transformation Strategy & Leadership
  • Define and implement the Bank’s enterprise transformation strategy in line with long-term business priorities.
  • Lead organization-wide transformation initiatives spanning technology, operations, digital banking, customer experience, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Drive the strategic evolution of the Bank’s operating model, business capabilities, and technology environment.
  • Provide guidance to the Executive Leadership Team on transformation priorities, emerging technologies, market developments, and innovation opportunities.
  • Build and promote a culture of innovation, agility, collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Transformation Portfolio Management
  • Develop and maintain governance frameworks for the Bank’s transformation portfolio.
  • Evaluate and prioritize strategic initiatives based on business value, customer impact, risk exposure, and organizational capacity.
  • Ensure effective coordination across transformation programs, projects, and technology initiatives.
  • Track transformation performance, benefits realization, and achievement of strategic objectives.
  • Identify and address organizational constraints that may impact successful transformation delivery.

Technology & Digital Leadership
  • Provide strategic direction across Technology, Software Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Digital Delivery, and Technology Operations.
  • Ensure technology capabilities are aligned with the Bank’s long-term business strategy and digital objectives.
  • Lead the modernization of platforms, applications, infrastructure, and engineering capabilities.
  • Accelerate the adoption of modern technologies, including cloud, APIs, automation, AI, and data-driven solutions.
  • Ensure technology investments deliver clear and measurable business impact.

Project, Program & Change Delivery
  • Oversee the Bank’s Project Management Office (PMO) and enterprise program management framework.
  • Establish effective project governance, portfolio reporting, delivery standards, and execution frameworks.
  • Ensure strategic initiatives are delivered within agreed timelines, scope, and budget.
  • Encourage the use of Agile, Lean, and hybrid delivery approaches where relevant.
  • Lead organizational change management and ensure effective adoption of transformation initiatives.

Business Process & Operational Excellence
  • Lead programs focused on simplifying, digitizing, and optimizing business processes.
  • Enhance operational efficiency through automation, process redesign, and technology enablement.
  • Promote customer-focused operating models and stronger collaboration across business functions.
  • Ensure transformation programs generate measurable improvements in productivity, service quality, and customer experience.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor emerging technologies and industry developments that can strengthen the Bank’s competitive positioning.
  • Encourage experimentation, innovation, and rapid development of new business capabilities.
  • Develop organizational capabilities that enable continuous transformation and sustainable improvement.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Digital Transformation, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Digital Business, Product Management, or Innovation would be an advantage.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within banking, financial services, consulting, or technology.
  • Strong executive-level track record of leading enterprise-wide transformation.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale digital transformation and organizational change programs.
  • Experience managing Technology, Software Engineering, Project Delivery, and Business Transformation functions.
  • Strong knowledge of banking operations, digital banking, technology strategy, enterprise architecture, and transformation governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional teams and deliver organization-wide change.
